How to store skincare products (when you have tons of them)?

Ever since that I got the breakout attack on my face, the number skincare products that I use multiplies. There are so many big bottles, small bottles, containers. I usually lump the small bottles in a small zipped bag and the the bigger bottles on my rack. Everything is quite messy and sometimes I have trouble finding my stuffs, some that I found to be forgotten for sometime.

Suddenly, tonight, I have the urge to rearrange the stuffs and this not-so-bad idea came out. Instead of arranging the bottles standing up, I arrange them lying down.

Bigger bottles at the bottom and smaller bottles on the top. Luckily, I still keep some of the boxes. This way, I can see all the bottles clearly and it is easy to take. Dust only covers the uppermost bottle, and not the cover of the bottle. Keke. Not bad lah. If you have the same problem as mine, try using this way.

By the way, final year of medical schools just started with SSM posting and I am honestly relaxed for the first couple of days. Gotta stop being "slumber" and get all my tasks completed.

Good luck!

Coral aka Sea Bird Nest Jelly

Sea Bird Nest (海燕窝)? Weird that there's bird nest in the deep sea? Sea bird nest is actually a kind of seaweed or coral. It is said to have high collagen content, similar to bird nest, but it is way cheaper than bird nest. I personally think that it is more convenient that bird nest as it keeps me from the tedious job of picking out the bird feathers from the bird nest.

This is how it looks like in dried form.

Just soak it in water for at least 2 to 3 hours, in between change the water for a few times.

Boil some water, then add in the sea bird nest and sugar. You can also add some pandan leaves, red dates and dried longan to add more flavour. Cook until the most of the sea bird nest, they will be some chunks of it that would not melt.

Then, fill it up into small cups. When it is cooler, keep it in fridge. Unlike agar-agar or konnyaku jelly, it will take a few hours to turn solid.

And here's the sea bird nest jelly that is ready. Yums! The affordable and delicious sea bird nest.

Klebang Coconut Shake, Melaka

So last time when I was at Melaka, I wasn't very satisfy for missing out Klebang Coconut Shake due to the time-constraint loh. Mai this time, since we travel from KL to Johor, we decided to stop by Melaka for a half-day fun, also to try out this coconut shake and compare to Kluang's

Driving with GPS is so easy. All the way from Melaka town, drive along Jalan Klebang Besar for about 20 minutes until you see Caltex petrol station from far. Klebang coconut shake stall is just next to Caltex. Then only I  found out that the stall by the roadside is for take-away de, the makan and minum place is a short distance inside the small road near the stall.

Neh, mai found the makan minum place. They use Wall's icecream for the shake.

Nah, the working station inside the warong.

The Klebang Coconut Shake. RM1.50 without icecream and RM2.00 with vanilla icecream.

Banana leaf nasi lemak, RM1.20

How is nasi lemak related to coconut shake? Both has coconut. XP

Previously I went to a shop claiming that the coconut shake was better than Klebang's. So, after experienced it by my own, the famous Klebang's coconut shake is still the best. Although the ice is coarser compared to Kluang's, but the taste is better, more fragrant and can eat the very small bits of coconut flesh. :) yum yum. 9.8/10.

My previous post about Kluang's best coconut shake.

Mee Raja, Restoran SS2 Murni

Brought my mummy to try out the food at KL. Since we were at MidValley, I thought of going to SS2 for dinner. So mai pick SS2 Murni loh.
Ordered Mee Raja, RM8. Portion is very large, one plate of mee raja can feed two person loh. So, I share share with mummy. Mee raja, texture is good, not too salty. 8/10

Mango special, medium, RM5, also good taste. 8/10

So, that settled our dinner. Ok, thank you, bye bye.

Lunch at Kluang Railway Coffee

Here to introduce again about Kluang's specialty, Kluang Railway Coffee. It is not only a yumcha place, but also a lunch place.

There's altogether 3 branches in Kluang. One at the original Kluang KTM railway station, one opposite Kluang Parade and the newest one is at Taman Tasik. This time, I went to the branch at Taman Tasik.

Kopi bing, as booster, as I would be driving to KL after the lunch.

All-time favourite here, Mee Siam.  9/10

I ordered nasi beriyani ayam set for this time. I think around RM7, comes with a dessert and drink.

Chicken is ayam masak merah. Yummy taste.

Love the rice. Although I was a bit disappointed that the rice is not Basmasti rice, but it was really fragrant. 8/10. Loss two marks for the sayur jeruk because it was 50% chilies, too spicy and not edible.

The next visit, I wanted to try out the Nasi Ayam, but it was out of stock. So, I ordered Nasi Beriyani Ayam. After waited for 20 minutes, I was told that Nasi Beriyani was out of stock too and I have to change my order. Since the kopi bing comes with Nasi Beriyani set, I got the kopi bing for free loh. Keke. This time, I chose Nasi Lemak with Ayam Goreng. Waited 10 minutes again, still haven't got until my mum when to the serving station to "blow" the kitchen. Then, they gave me one extra piece of ayam goreng for free. Keke. XP

I have been introducing Kluang Railway Coffee to my friends but speaking honestly, I have not try any Kluang Station branch outside Kluang, so I am not sure if the food are the same. @@

Melaka Trip Day 3: Melaka Historical Town and Capitol Satay Celup

So, it's the third day of our Melaka Trip. I got myself dressed, checked out, planning to just spend the day in the air-conditioned shopping mall, but then mum said, why not go to the Stadhuys. So, okayloh, we went there. Parked our car in front of Churst of St. Francis Xavier (outdoor, RM2 per entry). But the problem is, I wasn't dressed for the weather. :( Tahan.

Church of St. Francis Xavier.

She has never been to a church, so we went in.

Then, we walked to Stadhuys. In front of Galeri Seni Rakyat, Jalan Laksamana (Stadhuys), entrance is FOC. Worth to spent a few minutes in the gallery. Didn't take any picture of the gallery, I supposed photography is prohibited in any gallery. I looked a bit gila with my jacket.

On the hill, on the way to St. Paul Church. Can see the Flor de la Mar(right) and Menara Taming Sari(left).

St Paul Church where St Francis Xavier was once buried here.

At St Paul Church.

In Porta De Santiago.
The cannon at Porta De Santiago.
Istana Kesultanan Melaka. Entrance fee is RM2 if not mistaken, but the people at the ticket counter was too lazy to collect ticket fee. So, it's free for us. Keke.

The main exhibition. There's also other exhibition like traditional costume of the royals, Malay of different regions, miniature models of other palaces, and some historical story of Melaka.

We have pizza at US Pizza at Dataran Pahlawan, next to McD.
Garlic twist. Better than pizza hut's breadstick/ garlic bread.

Aloha delux pizza, with chicken ham, onion, pineapple and crabstick. Can fight with Pizza Hut's.

New York Wings, marinated with BBQ sauce. Yum. I ate 4 pieces.

After that, we also take-away a few pieces of Nadeje Mille Crepe because we were too full for desserts and we need to rush for Capitol Satay Celup before it was too late. I will write that in another post.

I dropped off my mum to queue up first and went to park my car. When I came to back, look at the line! Phew~ More than 100 ppl at 5.15pm.

After about two hours of queue, we finally reached the front.

4th generation already.

The food selection area. 90 cents per stick.
Mostly tofu and processed meat.

I prefer fresh meat.Took the ba gua cos mum likes it. She said it was the best one.

Cooking the sticks in the spicy peanut gravy. The gravy is indeed very fragrant de loh.

Yer... ugly face.

Big prawn versus small prawns. I preferred the small one.

Okay, here to tell u the trick. Most of the food at the food selection area are those processed meat or tofu/taupok stuffs. Do not take too much of those not-so-delicious food. Take a few and wait at the table while cooking and eating. The staffs will then put all these hao liao stuffs like sea prawns, shellfish, clams and abalone slices to your table.

Among all, my favourites are prawns, cuttlefish and clams.

Cooking clam in the sauce. Periodically, staffs will go to your table to stir the gravy for you. If you did not stir it, this is what happened. The spicy oil will float on the gravy, making it too spicy and yucky.

Before we left, at around 8pm. Queue is shorter, but still long. @@

Overall, it was good. I will definitely return to Capitol Satay Celup... in 10 years later.

Address:
Restoran Capitol Satay
41, Lorong Bukit Cina,
75100 Melaka.
Opens from 5am till midnight.

So, that is the end of my Melaka trip.
